For the most part yes, but I'm a gearhead. I eat live and breath what runs and rolls. It's in my blood, is my business and pays me to remember this so yeah I try and remember details. Cars, trucks, tractors, vintage aircraft all interest me and at some time or another I've done some serious research on them.


Glad you fell into the mix. What drew you in?


Because I LIKE IT! It's my therapy / stress reliever / happy pill. Rolling miles under one of these is the best for of relaxation I can find!

Basically "yes" for me, too. It drives everybody else in my family crazy - but I like to think I am gracious with those less knowledgeable.

I do come by it honest. I was born into this hobby and have been involved since I was about 3 years old. It's what I do at home and it's what I do at work.

Over the last year a lot of people have left the company to "pursue interests outside of General Motors".

I thought about that and it occurred to me: I don't have any interests outside of General Motors....

This stuff is what captures and fires my imagination.

As long as they are interested and are being cool I don't mind dumb questions. I don't have any badges on my bird so anyone with less than a passing interest in cars KNOWS it's a camaro. Like i said as long as they are a fan of old iron it's cool. I just hate the haters. Folks that stop what they are doing when you go by just to give ya the stink eye. Think because it's a little loud i must be doing something illegal.....they must hate harleys.

Steve I hate it when my mom gets on me about my cars, keep going on that I put too much money in them but that is what I like. I'm not like most of the folks out there, I don't want a new car, in fact if I hadn't made the changes to my 85 Grand Prix that I've made I likely wouldn't own it. I told a salesman back in the mid 90's just after I moved to North Carolina (I was driving an old Ford pick-up) that if I don't build it I don't drive it. Yeah the truck was rusty (came from Ohio) but I had a real good 289 in it and it ran better than most new ones. In fact I would love to have more older cars to drive and work on but for now I'll be content with my GTO and my GP until I can find an old 57-59 GMC or a 51-52 Ford PU to mess with.
