In today's market you'd have a hard time getting $4500 for a complete, running, car in better shape than that one.

Honestly I didn't even notice the price, I just opened the link saw the pic and read the first line... and chuckled..

In all fairness, do you know he's really a dealer? He could have erroneously checked the wrong box when setting up the ad. Whom ever typed this doesn't seem to have the intelligence to work for a dealer, IMO.
And as far as the price goes, he did put OBO in there, which should be an indicator that he is just high balling to get a quick 2 Grand or something more reasonable.

One more thing: Lots of southern states do not require a title for cars this old. I don't know if SC is one of them, but Georgia sure is. Lost Title is practically a non-issue here.

This is the biggest drawback, as you might just as well tear it back down;
or else throw it away and drop in a 350-400 Pontiac.

That's still going to be a slight problem even in Georgia. He mentions in the ad that he never registered it in his name so the chain of ownership has been broken. Easy to 'fix' as long as he knows the name of the guy that it was last registered to and how to get 'hold of that guy to sign it over to the new buyer or to him. If he can't get in touch with the previous owner, he's going to have to do some forging of that person's name on a Bill of Sale...and all of that is IF he actually knows the name of the last registered owner.

I see. This could explain why it's been sitting in his yard for 12 years. It'll probably end up being parted out.
Too bad. I think this T/A would clean up decent and make a good driver. Great candidate for an engine swap.
