I made some anchors to mount the top strap of the seats since I found the same issue when I first mounted them

That is dedication right there and shows where your priorities lie. There are not a lot of people out there that would do what you did. Congrats my man.

1 of none?
Noticed this car at local car shows and driving around some .....has some funny looking ET emblems integrated in the judge stripes? A extra tach shell on the hood. Has 428 emblems on the rockers....Would that qualify for the thread list?

Trophies in, around or worse, on cars at a show, shows to me that the owner is a total "look at me" fool. I walk right past cars like that. It also shows he brought the most friends to the show.

Great idea Colin!! Those, and my bench seat modification will allow me 3 seats in the back of my 72.

For me it's the weirdos who place stuffed animals and dolls on their car during shows. So completely cheesey.

Oh god yes. That's horrible. Especially those giant moth-eaten tigers that take up the whole back seat of someone's GTO.

interesting. This is a great idea... @ Colin: Do you have any pictures of the bracket and how you connected it? I would think that the metal frame of the rear seat would prohibit this from wrapping up and around... but maybe I'm not picturing it correctly.

FWIW, my son and I had a "surprise crash test" in a '65 LeMans at 65 mph. He was 18 months old, and was strapped into one of those forward facing car seats in the front passenger seat using extra wide racing belts. He was unharmed.

"cheezy smart a** a-holes" in my book are spineless people that can't say what is on their mind or should be said because someone might get offended by truth and facts. aka: Politically correct pussy. Know what I mean Vern?

I would think that the metal frame of the rear seat would prohibit this from wrapping up and around... but maybe I'm not picturing it correctly.[/QUOTE] The bar is about 3/16 thick so there is enough clearance from the rear seat. I have it coming flush with the metal behind the seat then braced it from the truck side to make sure they don't pull out or move. I'll get some pictures up when I have a chance to pull the rear seat. Its pretty simple and when they are two big for car seat I'll be able to take it out without having to do any repairs.

That's your car? Do you have a thread here about it? Would love to know more about how you built it and see more pics.

Rare from the factory
If you are talking rare from the factory, I might be in the rarer group. Only 25 73 GTO coupes were made with the 455 and my car has a bench seat, AM radio, no AC with a fake passanger vent and was originally Brewster green. The second owner painted it Verdant Green instead.😞 There is always rarer, but how many of those owners drive them is the question. I vote for the guy who drives his 69 TA. Good for him, driving is what it was built to do.

For sure, unfortunately in 73 the 455 only had the Turbo 400 behind it in the GTO.
