Not much to report photo wise, except to say that the mechanicals are almost done, and I will be bleeding the brakes soon. Going to try some Marson platinum plus filler with my new "hutchins hustler" air sander, after I get some rust fixed from the bottom of the driver's door.

Got the wheel vintique rally Is today, 15 x 7 front, 15 x 8 rears, and ordered a set of 235/60/15 and 275/60/15s redlines from Diamond Back.

What size are those Redlines? Are they the Coker ones?

When my tires wear out, I'm getting a set of 15", just not sure what size I want to run.

These are diamondback "LS5" redlines. i did a search on here and did not see many good reviews on the cokers.

Front are 235/60/15 and rear are 275/60/15.

I was glad these balanced out good, there was not much weight added.

The 275's should fit out back with no mods?

Where did you buy the tires, if you dont mind me asking?

The first site I googled for them listed them at what appeared to be an incredibly high price...

Not a lot of pics for a while but I have been working. I just sandblasted the LAST big piece (thank god thats over) and now just waiting for the new electric motor for my compressor to show up. (thats another ordeal altogether)

I bought a fender to replace the one that came with the car because it was complete junk. The replacement fender I bought from a member here happened to have some rust in the only place on my original fender that was any good. I cut it out prior to blasting because I knew I'd need to blow out a lot of rust and scale.

You can see from the inner bracing that this was very scaly inside, which caused the outer sheetmetal to rust through in several places. The 2nd pic shows the underside of the piece I cut off.

only thing now is to cut the piece out of the other fender. Just one little dimple to hammer out! I have both doors pretty much ready to go and one is hung on the car already. The other fender has the dogleg replaced already and is in epoxy primer.

You don't see many '68s with Rally I wheels. I just bought a set from a member here and was thinking about it myself. Looking forward to seeing them on the car.

I know I am in the minority but I like the Is better than the IIs. Rally Is with redlines is original equipment on this one according to my PHS.

I don't think you're in the minority there. I like them equally and I think most do...It's just that the Ones are harder to get and the Twos have been plentiful for years..(they are getting a bit harder to find any more though)... The Ones are kinda expensive too.
I bought mine because I always wanted a set and it was a good deal..even considering the freight shipping.

Here's a Rally I Chrome bumper '68 I've seen at two BOP shows now.

My compressor motor crapped out on 9/21 and I took it to a local shop to see if it could be fixed. They said it couldn't and they could order me a new one. It finally showed up Monday 11/7. I installed it the next day and got one tank full. When the pressure switch kicked on again it went silent. i was spraying some epoxy primer on that LH fender pictured above. Well, come to find out the pressure switch is smoked too. Jeez I can't wait to be making some progress for once.

Got to agree.Rally 1's over 2's on a 68 just look sweet.

Jeremy, I've been watching your post as I to have been working the 1/4ers on my 68. I recently been finishing up putting patches on and found after trying to fit the w/w moldings on the 1/4 it seems to need to be trimed at the end(bottom) they I thinkb are to long. I was wondering if you tried fitting your moulding yet and had any issues? The third picture is the area I am concerned with. thank tom

haven't tried to fit the moldings yet as I don't believe I have them all anyway. But yes that looks like a familiar photo and I bet I will have to trim mine too. I would just cut a pie shape into the bottom and push it up once you know how much is needed to be lopped off.
