In the late 70s my Dad was the used car manager at a Chevy dealership north of Seattle. You'd see these odd combinations once and a while. The joke was that GM would just throw together any parts left over at the end of the model year and ship them.

One in particular was a 1973 Chevelle Laguna. Leather interior, swivel bucket seats, cruise control, AM/FM 8-track stereo, rear window defrost, and a 3-on-the-tree transmission.

Growing up in the late 60's, my best friend had a 66 L-79 Nova from Nickey Chevrolet. While it was a real sleeper with steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps,plaid vinyl interior and a quite exhaust, it was the car to beat in our area. Consistant low 12's was really screaming for a street car back then.

Guy in my car club has a 69 GTO ram air IV. Sweet car. See it all the time...

Oh yeah, I own a 67 Tempest that is not a clone. That in its self is rare.....

A neighbor had a '69 Judge, RAIII, 4-speed convertible. He pulled the RAIII and put a '67 Catalina 400, low compression with a QJ, duals and TH-400. He was running back and forth to Ft. Meade and wanted economy. He changed out the rear for a 3.23 posi.

He ran it that way for a while and then sold it to his cousin, Stanley, who lit 'em up at a stop sign and lost it, T-boning a pole.

His cousin then bought a '65 Le Mans with a 283/350 combo. He asked me if I would swap the 400 from the Judge into it. I told him the Judge could be easily fixed but he wanted the '65 (It had a GTO hood ). I pulled the 283/T350 and rear out and he gave them back to the guy he bought the car from. I put the drivetrain he'd been running in the Judge in it. It ended up being a nice car and a surprisingly good runner. I took it to a garage for alignment and inspection and the guy took it for a road test. When he came back he was all smiles and asked me what it had in it. I told him it and he shook his head and said, "That's the best running car I ever drove!"

The Judge was junked and 6-months later the Le Mans was sold for $100 to buy a van. Stanley had moved to Passaic, NJ and discovered Marijuana. He had paid me over $700 to do the swap and it was all done right.

A couple of years ago, I rescued what was left of a '72 GTO "X" code 455 HO automatic hardtop from a GA. junkyard for $200. One of a couple hundred built. I stuck it on Feebay for laughs and giggles and was surprised that it sold for $3600. I was not complaining. Odd car, PHS showed it as an Export car, yellow,black bucket seat interior, power drum brakes,AM radio with floor mounted 8 track tape player,Rally II wheels, heater,p.steering. Really no other options. Not even a posi, but it was a 3.31 gear.

The rarest Pontiac that I have personally seen had to be my uncle Bill's '69 RA4 Goat.
Metallic brown/saddle interior, his/hers shifter, hood tach, 3.55 posi and NO spoiler.
Power steering but manual disc brakes. He was clocked one night running 125mph on
IN 62E just south of Charlestown. He sold the car for $1800 in 1976 to a dumbass that wrapped it around a tree the first week he owned it. Then again, Bill owned a '71 Goat that had a 455/3 speed combo. I know there were some
400/3speed cars built that year, but that's the ONLY 455/3speed one I've ever seen.

If the Beaumont is a real SD396 it is very rare as only 43 were built. There were no convertible SDs built in 1969.
