WOW, I can't believe you won't be able to finish the car.
I have been following this project from the beginning and it is one of the most unique and interesting build-ups to date on these forums. It looks like a lot of the hard work is already done. Hopefully you will change your mind (or current situation?) and finish it.

It is a big disappointment not getting this finished but I do not have anybody who will paint it now

Paint! you don't need no stinking paint! LOL That thing is awesome just the way it is. Personally I have no issue with it being a rat rod or a hot rod. I think you should take it to a few car gatherings. I would bet if talked a few people you could find a painter or maybe you might enjoy just driving it as is. I have enjoyed the build, hate to see you throw in the towel when you this close to the finish line. |

As long as your not having health issues or financial problems that's preventing you from finishing the car then I would keep it. You can always find someone else to paint the car. Building a car from scratch is frustrating, it always takes longer than what you think. Slow down and have some patience, the car will get done. Your car is unique and very well done so far. Selling it and letting someone else finish it would be a shame. I say continue on with your vision and complete the project no matter how long it takes. |

Chris, drive it the way it is that's what I am doing. My plan was to drive it this summer and work out all the bugs and paint it this winter. Now I don't know if I want to paint it I like driving it the way it is.I haven't had to wash or wax it all summer. JIM

I am happy with 95% of jesses work but he rushed through the work at the end so I have doors with no gaps that rub front and back and the strikers are solid mounted and are about a 1/8 too far out so the doors don't shut right. Tried to get him to fix them but he blew me off and this is after he charged me 10k more than our agreed upon price

Are you familiar with Goodrich Automotive in Bath? I've been impressed with the rods they've built (and painted) that I've seen at the Marty's Chop Shop shows. They have a Cosmi-Chrome franchise, and to demonstrate it they completely Cosmi-Chromed an early sedan then panel-painted over it!

Well this incident has really put me out of sorts with this car, I have lined up another painter but he can't take it in until April but says he can get it done in 3 weeks. I am still putting it out there for sale but will continue working on it. To sell I have to get a big number and would only sell it as a compleat project will all the parts I have for it. I figure at this point the difference to finish the car and sell it or sell now is about the same I would get more if done but would spend more.

Ok this project is back on track I have found a new painter and he will be taking the car in April possibly sooner and he estimated 3 weeks start to finish. He is a customer I deal with daily and his shop turns out some high quality work and gets it done. He has looked the car over and dosent see any major issues it looks like I might save 2k over the last painter and get a better job
