And when you start looking at some of these extreme performance and racetrack & autocross only 15-inch tires take note of their overall diameters.

Not that I've been able to find. There are plenty of high performance road course tires made for 15" wheels, but none that have the aspect ratio required for our cars. That's why if you want to stay on 15" wheels (like I do), you're basically stuck using a comically antiquated tire like the BFG Radial T/A or the Cooper Cobra Radial G/T. It's really unfortunate.

BINGO ! Hit the nail right on the head, and why my initial answer was no.

It's nothing more than another all-season high performance tire designed for use on emergency and law enforcement vehicles. Still 'old fashion' trad pattern

Got it.
Our first tires we took to the drag strip where Hoosier NASCAR road course tires. Hoosier makes them with street tread in 15” tires that look pretty good. I seriously doubt any of them are dot approved. I bet they would pass dot with flying colors if Hoosier went after the dot market.

https://www.hoosiertire.com/assets/Asphalt3.pdf

Your 77 T/A ‘s would look good with 17” wheels though. I know switching to 17” snowflakes has been on my radar for my 77.

My high speed jaunt was on new tires, we were late for a college entrance exam. Needless to say that was a few year ago.

All my cars with old tires all I ask they hold air and make it up and down my county road.

Also had to send back one of the 15x7 ralley wheel that came yesterday,,,,edge of the rim was bent and scratched pretty good,,,,box was a little damaged so probably shipping.. Good thing Im not in a hurry.
Glad to hear it worked out the way I predicted.

It would be nice to know who the vendor was. Obviously they are concerned about customer satisfaction and doing the right thing.

Jegs. Theyve been good to me. This all started when I ordered 4 of the firestone wide oval radials. Expensive(almost 1200.00) but thought i would be getting what was advertised as the dimensions. They say 27" tall but were 26.5". Ok ,, not happy but I can deal with that. It was the 6" actual tread width(thats being kind)with a claimed 6.9" width that bugged me the most. Installed one on my 14x7 ralley and it looked funky. Even the guy who mounted the tire on the rim said that. 3 months later I called Jegs and they took them back and paid for shipping. Thats how to treat a customer. So now I bought 4 new rims (15") and tires from them for about 1450.00.

Thumbs up

That was impressive customer service.

Fwiw..I was mistaken, running at the strip and for road courses with the 15” rims we ran McLeary tires not Hoosiers. They have a great selection of 15” tires to choose from in different treads, compounds and even dot tires for our muscle cars.

Prior to American Racer they were Race Tires America, Inc. (McCreary).
I still have their catalog from 1998. Not for their dirt tires but for the D.O.T. Street Tires, Jay is correct a good selection of 15-inch.
Later they were involved in a court battle with Hoosier Racing Tires.

There's nothing wrong with that, as long as they're brand new and in great condition. I bought my set of bf goodrich tires from 4WheelOnline awhile back and got the same high-quality tires for a great bargain.
