Default Power Steering Pump Bracket Info

Can people post up pics of the different Power steering Brackets for GTOs and Firebirds. I know what the 64 PS Bracket looks like (;>)

One part of the bracket I am trying to identify looks like a large 'U' piece
(right next to the PS Pulley)

Thanks

Tom Vaught

The Pump Reservoir is the later style with the short filler neck, The "u" bracket mounts LOW on the pump housing. (hard to explain). Look at the red bracket here:

1) Go Here: http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/

2) Then or here: http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/support.php

3) The GM Cars or here: http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/...0-%20GM%20Cars

4) Then here to download the PDF File:
1964-1967 Pontiac GTO Carbureted

Page 5 Picture 5-1-b Red bracket.

What model year in the pump and bracket??

Tom, I have no idea on the bracket. It looks like a custom made bracket to me. As far as the power steering pump, it looks like the one on my 76 Trans am.. I have to go in the house to look up part number on p/s pump..

Couple of pics of pump. My part number for a 76 is GM # 7818016.. Not sure if this will help you.

I looked at all the bracket in my PDF on 76-81 firebirds and no luck

Do not look at the aluminum parts in the pics, only the red brackets.
The aluminum parts are for mounting a supercharger. Pump style is right, some parts on the front of your pump are missing. THANKS!

Was looking at only the red bracket Tom. Can't find anything like it. Pump is just a spare I have laying around for pics.

Yeah, can't recall ever seeing that bracket either Tom, though if I had to guess, it's pre-67.

One thing to remember is that the pump itself is the same, only the resevoir changed over the years, from like 64 I believe to 76. The newer style housing that's shown in the pic is in use probably because it's a replacement, and the old style resevoir wasn't available at the time.

I think a service manual would be your best bet, or a resto-guide. When I was digging on a body bushing thing, someone posted a link to an online resto-guide complete with pictures for all GTOs, maybe search that.
