4 amp fuses
Rebuilding my 72 and there is no fuse in the dash lights, etc . fuse slot. Local parts store says all they have or can get is 3 or 5 amp fuses. It calls for a 4 amp. What do the rest of you run?

Gum wrapper foil...………………...LOL
Just Kidding!!! Used to be a out in the middle of nowhere fix, but hardly any gum comes in foil wrappers any longer. Back in the day you'd probably find at least one fuse wrapped in foil in my cars, after it was working. it was out of sight, out of mind. I never had any electrical fires in my own car, but I have worked on a few that wires were smoked beyond repair. |

A 1 amp difference is not a game changer, shoot, even 5 amp difference is not a biggie. Remember, it just means at what amp it would pop at in the event of a short.

Hmmmm.... the 4amp rated original glass fuses I'm acquainted with for dash lighing are the little short ones, not the std length AGC fuses

Yes, the 4 amp fuses are about 3/4" long for the slot in fuse box. I see Greg Reid posted an Amazon link, but it says 250V. The short 3 amp I have for my 55 Chevy headlight switch says 32V. So, if it says 4 amp, what volt is it suppose to be?

Do you not have a NAPA or Home Depot near you? You should have a SFE-4 by now. And, it should be 32V.
