Default fitament of 66-7 trunk floor

looking at the full version
I see notes that it needs work to fit
Are there any brands that fit without modification?

The repro floor pan is '66. You can make it work in a 67. For starters you need to use your original trunk drop downs(they only reproduce 66 drop downs) or at least the rear part to match the original shape of a 67 trunk floor. You will also need to move/shorten the trunk latch brace.

is this true for all brands?
I saw one that said fits 64-7 but the 66-7 needs modification and 64-5 was OK
so now Im officially confused.
why not just cut the old trunk floor further down on a 67 and trim a little off the new panel?

If the repro 67 pan is truly a 66 pan, the rear ledge contours are different where the tail light panel mates to it.

Cammer.....Depending on the condition of your existing trunk pan you could cut the new pan to whatever works for you.
4004speed...yes the rearmost shelf area IS different...It can be made to work.

Usually the area where the trunk pan is welded to the tail panel and the supports is rotted out, so if you need to replace the trunk pan for other reasons, you'll probably have rust in those areas, too.

The full trunk pan from Ames fit my '66 fairly well'ish. No major work needed for the rear edge, but we did have to massage the curved areas where it fits around the inner wheel housings.

I bought the one piece Dynacorn, as mentioned, the trunk latch support and fuel tank vent and back up lights all need to be modified, overall, it worked well

I used dynacorn full trunk, wheelhouse assemblies and full quarters on my 66. Everything went together pretty well, had to massage the trunk floor to wheelhouse gap on both sides a bit, and the right side body mount behind the wheelhouse was off about a half a hole width, but was a fairly easy fix. The quarters fit well too. I started with the 67 full quarters and they seemed just as nice, halfway through modifying the first quarter to make it a 66 they released the 66 panels.. I bought all these panels (as well as my full floor pan) through NPD since they're only about a 45 minute drive from me. They were super cool about letting me return the unmodified quarter.

I tried that
They gave me a number of a local shop and said they were a distributor.
When I called this place it was like I was speaking in the wrong language.
Saying no we dont sell parts, only buy mustang body shells from them.

Called Dynacorn back and said sorry only dealers can buy from them.

NPD is about hour away but they have jacked the price up about $200
per panel above all others.

I don't know about the '66 but I got the full pan for my '68 from Tamraz on eBay. It was near perfect. I expect they carry the '66 as well.
Edit- I just looked and they show the Dynacorn pan with free shipping.

I tried that link
couldnt get to work
I searched ebay under full trunk panels
found some listings for over a grand
doing the math thats about 600 for shipping
Parts place and Ames has them for 700 plus shipping
I see that Sherman also lists them. A lot of their stuff is made in USA
more research is needed. Thanks

Yeah, I noticed the price was over a thousand but it's been a while since I got mine so I thought it had gone up just like everything else. Good to hear that that's not the case. I think I paid no more than $600 or so.... maybe less.

Can’t help with the Sherman website---maybe they just found it easier to sell to big suppliers like Summit and Jegs.

Here is some info from a Performance Years catalog that I saved before they went out of business. Paraphrasing from their sheet metal section: “…generally sheet metal that is EDP coated is from Taiwan while sheet metal that is bare as stamped is from the U.S. or Canada. Also, the offshore metal is usually one gauge smaller than OEM…”

While looking at my parts catalogs I noticed that the USA/Canada sheet metal is bare.

Also, be aware of re-branding. I don’t know Dynacorn’s policy but it appears that Golden Star (GS) (Taiwan) does re-brand. Ordered a three piece GS trunk set, drop shipped from the CA warehouse, one piece with a red label and the GS part #, and the other two with blue labels (identical to the red except for the color) with a Good Mark part #.

We replace lots of sheet metal in my business and Sherman is a brand I avoid because the fit quality has been consistently bad.
