Default Final tightening of suspension bushings

I've got to lower the GTO onto some supports to tighten all the suspension bushings ... I'm wondering, is it OK to use jacks stands on the rear axle instead of blocks under the wheels?

I understand that on the front the weight has to be on the tires to get the proper spring compression, but seems like on the rear it wouldn't matter long as the axle is supporting the weight of the car.

Thanks

That's how i did mine. As long as the suspension is compressed to ride height the end result is the same. I used a jack stand under the lower control arm to do the fronts too and have had no problems at all.

It depends on which control arm bushings you have too. If the control arm bushings are OE style with the 'teeth' on the sleeves, you have to tighten the control arm bolts with the car's weight on them. If they are aftermarket type bushings with no 'teeth', then you can tighten them without loading them.

If you need to load the control arms when you're running OE type bushings, jack stands under the lower control arms are an acceptable method, as previously mentioned.

Just thought I would clarify...
