Tiacguy, Maybe you would know if this would work. I bought a 9" from Moser to fit a 68 Goat. Would this work in a 63 or 64 Tempest? Thanks. Pitch

Wink Hey...

I'm all about "simple and reliable" ! Would any set-up work? [V-8 or four] Or does it require a certain application. Who has a spare? Thanx again. You guys are invaluable fountains of information! Ron

It will work with either a 4 or V8 but you have to constuct it .Any good welder or chassis man can do it easily.

This is the completed chassis for my '63 Tempest racecar. Next step, the body goes back on, the interior sheetmetal goes back in and I start with the wiring, brake lines, body work, etc. while I figure out how I'm going to pay for the motor. I have a billet crank and an MR-1 block for starters.

Default 61 Tempest Newbie

Hi - I'm the new girl in town, so to speak (thanks to mechanickeith for referring me!). Just bought a '61 Tempest Custom Coupe. I will attach pix shortly. It was born Tradewind Blue but someone palinted it royal blue/white twotone and redid the bucket seats. Would love to see more pix of other Tempests. Does anyone know how many '61 coupes survive? PHS is of limited help here. Thanks, Jackie

Thumbs up Photos from 1982

Here are some photos of my first Lemans. 326 V8 Automatic. I paid $550 for that car in 1982, it was a pretty good car for the time. I got it running, (it had been sitting for a couple years in a barn), Tune-up carb overhaul, new coil, spark plug wires etc. I drove that all summer long.

Yeah I should. Dart little m Block, Brodix 18 degree spread port heads, 12.5/1 compression. This is a race engine that I am putting on the street. I will run it on E85 to keep it cool and for the compression. As you can see it will take awhile before I am done.
Thanks for looking

Well then you'll get to 200... if the tires stay straight and on the ground. Can you make ANY body mods in the class you plan to enter?

Also, I'll through a pic of my own into this thread... More to come of my other '63s.

Drove this one with the 4 banger (and skinny Welds up front) for quite a while before I cut it up for the tube chassis. Sold it unfinished 10 years or so ago.

I picked this one up last weekend. Still haven't decided if I'll keep her or not.

Default My 61 Wagon by 2008 I hope it will be 215V8 Powered

Kept forgetting to add a picture here of my wagon and my much better known (Google search 1961 Tempest) coupe which I've had for a long time.

Wagon has as nice of an interior as my coupe, but there are the usual fender cavity issues that need to be corrected.

That is cruel and unusual punishment for your Tempest.
