Default Pontiac G6 2.4 liter 4 Cyl. opinion/history

I am looking at a 07 G6 with the 2.4 4 cyl. for a cheap trip car. are any of you familiar with this motor? Is it a relative of the Quad 4, the 2nd worst motor that GM ever made? Vega has to be #1.

Anyway... The price is right but I don't know anything about that motor. Tell me what you know.

Thanks, Larry

The Ecotec is supposed to be a pretty good engine. I believe GM runs a variant of it with one of their race cars on the salt flats. GM even sells a series of high performance parts for it. No relation to the Quad 4.

A couple links of interest for you:
