I'm wanting to repaint my gauge needles. What is the right color? What brand?

Also, if you haven't been made aware already, I believe Pete Serio (and others) strongly recommend applying paint to gauge needles with an airbrush only. I've read that you can cause issues by brushing paint on due to the weight of the paint adversely affecting the needle movement. This is one area where I'd farm it out to someone like Pete, or do exactly as the experts say.

Pete Serio also warns "The pointers on all 1950s and 1960s GM car gauges are made from very thin aluminum. (Painted.)
Those old gauge pointers are very easily bent or broken. There are no new pointers available today, that you can buy, for any of those gauges." My gauges are heading his way soon. |

Thanks for all of the replies. I think I will go for it. Just try to keep the paint to a minimum.

Some things are better left to those that do it a lot, just sayin. VERY fragile.

I understand and agree somewhat. I didn't get the experience that I have by being scared. I have a masters degree from the school of hard knocks! I will also reply and tell everyone if I F#*k it up. Lol!
