Rear sway bar drop link question...
It appears there a 2 different lengths on these,,,,
Early vs late (70-74)....or small vs large bar? Thanks |

Could be Camaros were different length. I have had a bunch, but all were same length. Same PN both sides.
I have seen them broken, and repaired with new pipe too. All size rear bars of this era got same drop link on Birds so equipped. A person who wanted the back jacked way up may need longer ones for their skid around a corner..... |

The 2 on the right are the shorter ones......
They look to be a matched pair....and I see no evidence of any cobbled welds...etc... The far left is the later style. With the slightly shorter bar ..I guess it would mean a bit less room for diff cover access....with a transverse muffler....... I'm going to try them on my 73....... |

Evidently, 1974 was by itself with these, and 1975-81 had a left and right side.

I am running the rear sway bar that I removed from my 74 Formula, I will have to measure eyelet to eyelet. You think they are shorter than the previous years?

My 71 has the brackets welded to the frame rail while I have seen later bars with bolt on brackets. Maybe that is the difference? The bolt on bracket decreases the space available for the drop link so it uses a shorter link??

Bolt on anti sway bar mounts use the wrap around drop link. I have access to a friends 74, and will measure the drop links this week

This rear sway bar set was taken from my 74 formula. The drop link are about 10.5 inches long from center to center.

In 75 they changed up to the bolt on brackets.....and the drop links used the wrap around bottom clamp with only one bolt..
