68MeanVerdoroGreen (Larry) was in his basement when his house blew up last night around 5:15pm. He was found on his couch in the basement today, but the cause of the fire is still unknown, or not released. His family was not in the house during the fire. All four GTOs were pushed out of the garage by a neighbor who is also a car buff. I have pictures of the cars, and the house taken as of about 5pm today. There is minor damage to a fender on the silver car, but the other cars don't appear to have any more damage than they previously had. All that is left of the house is the four walls of the garage. He was a member of the Springfiled twp Fire Company. He was always willing to lend a hand to me in my Pontiac projects. He was a friend who will be missed.

Larry told me the Silver Judge was owned by some bigwig at Pontiac back in the day. It currently has some fender damage that may have happened while it was being pushed out of the garage. One of the orange Judges was all original and unrestored, although it needed attention. The other orange one was completely restored but had minor fender damage afterwords that he never got around to fixing. The green GTO was his original car. I've seen him drive that around more than the others. He had four GTOs packed in a two car garage with the help of a lift.

I know the firemen, as I used to be a member. I took a few pictures of my own, but there was a lot of investigators there today, so I tried not to overstay my welcome. The firemen showed me pictures of the fire when they first got on scene. It grew big and fast.

A neighbor shot some video as it was burning and it looked really bad.

Did he have a large family? I feel real bad for them. Not only losing Larry but just about everything they own.

I'm not clear on his entire family. He had an exwife, and I believe kids. He was living with his current wife and I'm told a teenager. I met his current wife, but no one else.

I never had any dealings with him but I sure remember both the user name and his given name. Very sorry to hear this. Sincere condolences to his survivors and may he RIP.

Larry's garage. Notice the tiger tail key chain hanging on the wall.
