Electric choke resistor?
I will be installing the engine & trans into my GTO this weekend, and will then begin hooking up all the wires. The car has been been converted to HEI and has the American Autowire Classic Update full wiring kit.
Before I restored the car, the electric choke on the Holley 4160 carb had a resistor (see below) on the positive terminal of the choke cap. I dropped it yesterday and it cracked in half, and when looking to buy a replacement I didn't see a resistor like this mentioned in my American Autowire engine harness kit instructions, nor did I see a resistor listed on Holley's webpage when searching through their electric choke components. Do I actually need to use a resistor on positive terminal of the electric choke?

Never saw nor thought the electric choke needed an additional resistor. Most likely a mod someone thought was needed to keep the choke closed longer.

Thanks, George. I'd rather not have an unsightly resistor in that location anyway. And it's one less thing to buy.
