I have to get different mufflers, I can’t go thru a drive thru without cutting it off LOL. My FIL came last night and the first thing he said was it’s loud

Dynomax Super Turbo is the go-to, you might be able to get a 20" case under there, but 18" will definitely fit.

Are you currently using the Black Widow Exhaust "Neighborhater" Mufflers? They do sound like those though. I think you like the recommended Dynomax Super Turbos, they have a good sound but quieter.

No not the neighborhaters. They are supposed to be the quietest ones

The super turbos with an X pipe is as quiet as you can get without sacrificing power. At wide open throttle, they still are kind of loud, but no where near other mufflers I've run.

What do you mean by 'cold natured'? Like it doesn't fast idle and warm up without playing with the throttle?

Just to say, you shouldn't drive it 'cold', always let it warm up some, 160 coolant temp min, and never hammer it with cold oil.

What size pipes do you have?If 3in it is hard to get them to a decent level.I went too 2.5 with Hushpowers and like them a lot.For my get up at 5:30 and drive to a AM car show I only drive my 62 GP as it is WAY more quiet than the other 2 cars and has a heater for winter.Tom

It’s 3 inch exhaust but apparently these dynomax are 2.50 on the inside.

I could just tell you from experience 3” exhaust with a muffler thats 2.5 is not going to make very much of a difference, may sound a little different but not as noticeable quieter amount. Straight 2.5 exhaust with 2.5 mufflers will. At least it wasn’t for me.
I might as well let the $450 I spent making changes might as well have thrown the money out the window.
