Color on the inside of the glove box
The inside of my glove box door is painted. I was curious: Is this color as close as possible to the original color of the car? I had forgotten that this panel was painted when I was sourcing paint, and the paint I ended up getting is several shades different than the paint that is in the glove box. I was curious if this is actually the original color of the car, or if it just happens to be "in the neighborhood". Anyone have an original paint car that can confirm? Mine's a '68.

The backside of the glove box door is a gray. This is the back side of my 68 with the sticker.

I thought the color of that surface along with the gauge faces, recessed areas that the gauges sit down in, and layer of paint just below the faux wood grain covering was Blue Charcoal. I have several ‘68 dashes here as well as original glove box doors and that all have the same paint in a very low sheen. I have the PPG code for it somewhere but the Pontiac color that it crossed was Blue Charcoal from what I researched.

Yes, Blue Charcoal is the color. It's been 20 years since I restored my 68.

Wow, good news! Thanks all. Here I was thinking I just spent a small fortune and countless hours painting my car the wrong color!
