I have a 455 that will be going into my '67 GTO. 425 hp, 510 tq. , nothing crazy. A 2.93 rear gear (ac car). Looking to spec. a torque converter for the turbo 400. Looking for something in the 2500 or so stall range. What are you guys running?

I have there 9.5" Street Edge Behind a 434 BBC w/ 530 TQ works great
I also have a TRISHIELD behind a 350 Buick but there are more money... I think the stall is a tad high, but it does work very good also.
Its best to talk to a builder of converters,,,,, just to many variables

Call PTC, ask for Lane and have him build you a 9.5-10" 2800 stall.

I had a TriSheild Performance 9.5" behind the 455 in my 60' bird. I really enjoyed that converter. I would vote for them. I'd call them direct and discuss what you want, I think they can get that 9.5" tightened up down to about 2800 rpm or so. Even at the 3000 rpm that mine stalled at, it drove very positively off idle. It had enough grab at idle to creep the car forward even going up normal driveways.

I also have a 9.5" TSP converter Cliff specced for me behind the stroker in my GTO. Similar hp and torque output to you, but I have a 3.55 rear. I like it a lot - it generally lives around 2k-2200 in regular driving and flashes to ~3k when you step on it. It's hard to keep the tires planted when you put your foot in it.
