Default Door water deflectors?

Good day.
I'm replacing the windows fuzzies on my Firebird, which means pulling the doors apart.
The paper water deflectors have seen better days. I've found some online, but they are special order, and the shipping is almost 3 times what they are worth. Being in Canada can make shipping an adventure at times as well.

Anyone ever made their own? What material would you use? Something like roofing felt? Or is it a dumb idea and I should just bite the bullet and order them?

Thanks for any advice you can give,
Ken
