Default Intake clearance on stock 65 GTO hood

So can a Victor fit under a stock hood? 4150 or Dominator?

Yes, should fit with a 4150 Victor but no carb spacer.

Thinking what will fit for engine planning -if a Victor will I think the Bathtub will.

I had one of the early Bathtub reproductions and it did fit under the hood of my ‘64 GTO, no carb spacers with very little room to spare for air cleaners.

Plenty of info and pics here, I did check the hood clearance:

Last year my friend was working in his 65 GTO and he had his intake off. I took the opportunity to bring over my bathtub and give it a try. He had only one Edelbrock carb so we put it in the front position and closed the hood. Looking through his scoop you could just see over the top of the carb. There is definitely room but you will have to get creative with air cleaners. Like Skip I want to use my bathtub on my 65 GTO but I’m a ways off from trying it. Still have to build my 65 421 first.

Wasn't there a company years ago that made a "Super Scoop" hood with a scoop that looked like the factory one but slightly larger/taller?

I added some foil stands on top of the current air cleaner to measure factory intake 1/2-3/4 Holley adapter 3310 Holley and it looks like it will clear.

Bart I forgot about that thread! gave me ideas about linkage bracket also.

I have a 65 GTO with a Victor on and 4150 carb and 3" tall air cleaner, but the air cleaner has a sunken base to form around carb to give the space I need to fit under the hood.

Definitely would not fit if a tempest or lemans flat hood, the GTO hood gives just the clearance it needs to fit.
