Default PHS decode - export car, but to where

I've been able to decode most of the billing history card from PHS. I know the car is an export based on Zone 40 listed. However I haven't been able to determine where it was exported. If anyone happens to know the 'charge to' and 'ship to' dealer codes it would be most appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Your T-37 is very impressive (sorry being off topic), I had to comment on it. Pure Stock rules and all, that's my dream to build a pure stockcar and race it.

Maybe this thread can give you some info: http://forums.maxperformanceinc.com/...d.php?t=534976

Your car has a very low VIN for a car being invoiced in May 1968!
Wonder why that is?

Thanks. It's an absolute ball racing that car. Pure Stock racing the firebird is next on the list.

I did see that thread. And you are right, Sean and the website aren't always correct with the dealer info. Zone 40 as you state is not just for Australia.

best I've been able to get so far is GM Overseas Operations. But where specifically the car went, be it Guam, Philippines, Hawaii, Japan, Australia, I don't know. That's what I'm trying to figure out, if it's even possible. Some of the dealer codes in Zone 40 are known, so hopefully we can get other figured out.

I suspect many of what are thought to be "export" vehicles from the late '60s were actually cars sold to GIs in the AAFES New Car Sales Program.

Cars could be purchased overseas for delivery to the buyer when he returned stateside.

Here is a short blurb about the program, see page 9.

https://www.aafes.com/Images/AboutEx..._annualrpt.pdf

This seems especially true based on the idea that one code shows a Charge To while a 2nd code identifies a Ship To.

Thanks John. That is what I suspect, a GI ordered the car and "exported" to a US military base in some warm climate since it's heater delete. When his tour was up, it was shipped back to (most likely) California.
