Its like the Good Ole Boys Club there. If you aren't part of the "in" crowd and know the Pontiac club that is hosting this then don't expect to come home with a trophy.
That hasn't been my experience. Been taking the '65 2+2 to the show for the last 5 years or so and - though I come from the other side of the river - never felt left out when it came to fair judging or receiving awards.

This year I'll be parking on the other side of the track. I'll be racing my recently acquired '63 Cat - only the second time I've had it out, so it will be a learning experience.

We have been down to Atco the last 4 years and the club running it was very fair. They changed the rules every year to keep it interesting. They had judged shows and people's choice one year. I did not see any good ol boys club, I saw just the opposite. A bunch of nice guys running a Pontiac show. Is the trophy the only reason you go to a car show? We go to see the cars, the racing the people, etc. for the fun of it!

I'm still planning to head over. It'll be the longest drive yet...and will certainly burn lots of fuel, even though it's only about an hour from here!

Fuel would be the last thing on my mind if you plan on taking it down the track.
See you in the pits.

the bully tactics are old and immature........sad!!

Dave, Thanks so much for your support of the show! Enjoy seeing the other cars. Maybe you should sell all of your Pontiacs and get some OTHER cars.

No bully tactic's, just trying to get you to show your dedication to the Pontiac hobby! There are no other Pontiac events left in this area at a drag strip. This one even has to be combined with other GM brands at Atco's request! If Pontiac people do not show there support, this one will end as well. Our club is just trying to keep it going! Let's show Atco how important Pontiacs are and bring one out! Hope to see lot's of Pontiacs on Saturday!!!!!

Default Atco BOP day

You can check out a few passes I made here:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCek...mMV2mdLd8PfWdA

Not to sound a negative note, but if the track management keeps diluting this event by combining Pontiac's with every other brand, it will lose popularity. I understand that they wanted to pump up the show field attendance by opening it up to other GM marques, but the inclusion of a regional Mopar event on the track side was a greedy move. I won't race there again if that is the case in the future. There were so many Mopars racing that I only got four passes in between 9:30am and 7:00 pm. If it's a BOP day, it should be only BOP on the track side as well.
