Catalina- pass side A arms , new bushings installed. Gonna spend a couple days doing a back yard restoration, cleaning the 60 years off gunk off the chassis, and slather on some flat black.
Then turn car around and start other side(short on space).

Flat black brushed on, plenty good for a driver.

Pulled LeMans distributor to send off for rebuilding and convert back to points, ditching this old Pertronix set up.

Did the Pertronix give you trouble? I seem to be the only one that's had good luck with those things.

I’ll know when I get the distributor back in and running. I have an erratic idle and stalling problem that gave me fits last summer. Replaced the carb, checked for vacuum leaks, ect ,still does it. Let a couple of other gear heads in my area go over it, and it’s been a head scratcher. A few people mentioned they had weird things like this happen with their Pertronix, so going to give that a try.

Got the tach working. I have a pertronix 3 and was worried about connecting the tach lead to the neg on the coil. I had incorrect info that the tach could be damaged by the multi spark feature.
But that is not true and in my cars case I didn’t need to add a resistor that is sometimes required for correct function of the tach.

Now I get too see how long the Pertronix functions before I get stranded like so many other have.

I installed a Pertronix 3 on my 70 El Camino. No problems for the three years before I sold the car. I had an old SW tach (1965) with sending unit that worked just fine with the P3. (Tach is going back into my 68)

Hey, I have one of those! When I got my used 15" wheels I had them all cleaned up and painted when I found that one of them had some rounding of the holes. What do you do with a pretty but non usable Ralley II?
Just a heads up, you are missing a couple of lug nuts.

Yes, I know there are two missing lug nuts, but my trailer tire carrier only came with provisions for 3 lugs. My rally is also painted an incorrect color as well.

I fixed a little intake o ring leak on the 81. I took off the intake and was a little more liberal with the right stuff.

I took advantage of the dry weather and ran some errands in the T/A, then took the '68 down to open shop night at my son's school. I was hoping to do some more tinkering on the brakes but all the bays were full. It was fun seeing the shop kids drool over it and shout "noooo waaaay!" when my son got in to drive it home. He definitely got some cool points.

Forgot the pic...rolled over 19,000 miles in the Comp T/A while I was out today. It came to me with 16,700 in 2022 so I'm not exactly racking up the miles, but it's getting driven regularly. It apparently had a mere 500 miles put on in it in the 10 years prior to my ownership.

Since the tape player is fixed I rocked a little STP Purple while motoring around.

They seemed to be always problematic.
Points are a no brainer to fix on the side of the road.

I could swap a HEI module faster than points on the side of the road. But, that's me. Maybe if your a points master it's the opposite.

Also, whenever anyone complains about HEI it usually seems to be Pertronix. I have a DUI and i've searched around and haven't really found many, if any, problems.
