Hard to tell, but I'd make the length of the lines terminate the same. It looks like one of the left ends of the bottom pairs of lines are uneven. I have seen some lines run off the edges, but it seems to be a function of how accurately the labels were cut.

I have a couple pictures of original aircleaner and tire information labels from my 1968 Catalina if you're needing those. It's 1968 400 2bbl 3 speed automatic. Let me know if you need additional angles or measurements.

Thanks! I made a few PH screens based off current reproductions. However, looking at your original I see I got the part number wrong so I'll have to fix that!
I have water slide tire pressure decals on my list when I get my new decal printer setup going. I'm currently having the printer refurbished so it will likely been a month or two before I have those. Measurements and straight on shots are always helpful references. |

Updated version of the '70 PC decal. Changed up the fonts and lines. Also rounded off the fonts like I did on the '71 455HO decal.

Better. I would see if you could fix the 1050, making the zeros not so round thus aligning with the 675 number above. The 4 horizontal lines could be closer to the edges, just not all the way. And, is there a way to make the degree signs a tad bolder? Way to hang in here.

Here's another pass. I was looking at the pic with NOS decal and it looks like the fonts might be a little blown out, so I tried a version with the weight of the fonts slightly reduced by negatively offsetting the path as you'll see below. You all can tell me if this is a failed experiment or not. There's so much more nuance to these things than just typing out a bunch of works. In this case, after getting the fonts and weights generally right, I break them apart and outline them (which makes them more like an illustration), blow the entire artwork up 500%, slightly round the corners on the letters, offset the stroke if necessary, then shrink it back down to 100%. The evolution of the fonts looks like this: When I break up the fonts to modify them, that makes future edits or corrections a little more of a chore so I keep multiple versions of the art. The low resolution on the forum makes it hard to see all the details which is why I like to output them and take photos. Standard weight fonts: Fonts with a slightly negative offset path: Output comparison - left has the lighten type, right is regular: Lighter fonts on top, regular fonts on bottom: |

I've been focused on getting my '68 dialed in after installing the engine, so I haven't put much time into the decals lately. Dennis sent me some feedback on the '70 emissions decal so I spent a bunch of time reworking it and ensuring the alignment and fonts are the best they can be.
I've had a few requests come in for the elusive and controversial '69 emissions decal. I have avoided producing them so far because I haven't had an example, but that has changed. I had a '69 Judge owner reach out who managed to save the original off his car! The content is the same as the '68 Ram Air decal, but it's printed on a paper stock vs. a water slide. It's also a little bit smaller in size. This is the only original '69 decal I've seen from a confirmed source. |

It would be cool if these could be customized for different custom displacements and timing specs. Give a sleeper look to a modified car.

A few pages back I posted about a printer I bought that will allow me to do waterslides myself. I'm having the printer gone through and restored at the moment, but once I have it back I should be able to do one offs as waterslides pretty easily. |

It looks like the yellow label for the 68 Tempest bumper jack adapter was a water slide. I don't really care for the reproduction on that either.

It’s taken a really long time to get a small amount of water slides made - and it’s really expensive. Looking forward to being able to make these myself. |

It took a while, but I finally got my big batch of waterslides in. I've had a ton of requests for these.
I have '68 GTO standard 4bbl and Ram Air, Firebird coolant in white and black and '65-'67 GTO fan guard decals. I'll get them up on the Etsy site in the next few days. |

I started a project to duplicate it died on the vine because no one wants to pay for it when they can buy a $5 sticker. SMH as to what purists accept.

You can find it at gastiresandoil.etsy.com or www.gastiresandoil.com (url redirects to the Etsy site). I just uploaded the waterslides. For any of you all on Facebook, I also started a page where I post progress. I have an Instagram account too, but haven't been keeping up with it. https://www.facebook.com/gastiresandoil I sent a small batch of the '70 400 and 455 emissions decals for print yesterday too. Should have those within the week. Last edited by Verdoro 68; 04-30-2023 at 04:34 PM. |

Order received! Much appreciated.
I'm going a little overboard and bought a fancy new laser printer that works with white toner with the hopes that I can produce more items directly. Between this one and the ancient ALPS I'm having restored I should be able to output most requests. I thought the '68 jack hook decal would be a good first project. The existing repro is waaay off. However, I totally spaced and forgot you need to lay down a base of white before printing on clear decal material otherwise it will come out transparent. Unfortunately the white toner is with FedEx on the way from Germany. Oops. However, the test print decals of the '70 emissions came out nice! We'll see how they compare with the decals I had printed. I also did that oddball '69 Ram Air emissions decal which is really just a size tweak to the '68 decal. |

Ive noticed some part number ID labels are on a roll like Scotch tape and have a serrated cut .
This makes sense just pull off a couple inches and rip off the tape dispenser.

It's waterslide mania! Surprisingly, the white toner cartridge arrived early yesterday so I've been busy making color separations and experimenting with printer settings and different decal papers.
The toner setup is pretty slick. You simply swap it for the black the cart in the printer and print your white layer. When you run the rest of your colors, you put the black cart back in and print as normal. Since the paper goes in and out in multiple passes, registration can be an issue so I've been futzing with the overprint and trapping. The printer settings also require a little tweaking to get the toner to lay down nicely. This laser setup wasn't a cheap endeavor at a little over $800, but I'm happy with the output and it frees me up to do custom requests in addition to printing on demand via the latest software. The owner of a '68 Firebird sent me a few examples of original water slide tire pressure decals, so I figured I'd knock a few of those out since they sit on white. The '68 jack decals came out pretty good too. Way better than the current option anyway. |
