Default Control arm bolt hits the frame.

Hello, I was taking out the front, left, lower, control arm bolt to remove the control arm. The bolt head was towards the rear of the car. After taking the nut off and pulling the bolt back it hit the frame. lol. There was no way to get the bolt out , let alone put it back in. I had to take my grinder and cut the bolt off. Has anyone ever had this problem. I guess going back in I can reverse the bolt. Never had this issue on any of my other headaches, I mean gto's.
