Is this 69 worth saving
Basket case no motor or tranny. Missing front sheet metal.
Haven't seen an expresso brown, fawn top, gold interior car before though. Color combo justify a restro? Or not worth the hassle

My thought is no. Missing sheet metal and drivetrain with a subjective color combo an otherwise garden variety '69 make it a tough sell for me. I know others love Expresso Brown, and while unique, I personally find that color combo really unappealing.

Car is probably worth the value of the reclining seat and the matching driver seat.

To me, it would depend on the price and if you had some extra parts to use on the car.

Yep, seems like it would depend on all the other factors ... those colors alone wouldn't seem to matter much on a GTO optioned like that one.

If the price is right I try and save whatever I can at this point.

Yes, what I was leaning towards put out to pasture

I started out with a basket case and have over 38K USD in parts and materials. If you don't have the major parts already, the basket case can be a money pit.
Doesn't mean it can't be done, but is it worth your time and effort?

That exact color scheme was a very popular color scheme on 69 GP's and was not uncommon on GTO's. The reason that you think it's rare is most cars that color were changed over the years by owners who wanted "younger" colors. Brown is a very unpopular color as is the gold interior. The dark fawn top is a chocolate brown and with Expresso Brown results in a handsome looking car but one perhaps not in keeping with most buyers idea of what a GTO should look like.
This opinion is from a guy with five Expresso cars!

There aren't too many base engine, automatic, GTO hardtops that I would restore. Why be upside down on that car?

I love 69 GTOs and I can’t think of a good reason to put your time and money into this particular car.

That's a very "adult" GTO.

I'm going against the grain, if the frame is clean and doors back body is workable, I'd round up the BASIC parts to get it running / driving and find a buyer. I drag a lot of old cars / trucks out of the weeds that others pass on and get them to the point where the next guy can have a running project. I usually lose my labor, sometimes some money as well, but I like working on them and enjoy the variety of different makes and models.

Any quality condition original sheetmetal panels on the body?
