Picked up an intake I had converted to EFI. Was playing around and pretending to use a cam housing as a common plenum.

I dragged my 57 out of the back room, vacuumed all the spider webs out of it & took a bunch of pictures, so I can put it up for sale.

The plan was always to build a gasser out of it, but since I bought Stubby , I am going to sell it & the Speedway straight axle.

God Bless
Bill

Fixed the SES light on the T/A. Pretty simple to do once I had the right cable and software, which told me the smog pump fuse was blown. Easy fix. Really appreciate the free scan software for these oddball years.

Now that I've got the equipment to talk to the car, I'm wondering what else I should tweak. Might do some logging and see where things are at. It's a slippery slope.

Picked up my refurbished starter & alternator from a long-time local rebuilder.

More importantly ~ dropped the Tri-Power & a bunch of engine parts off at the engine builder, should be done this month!

Got my air cleaners today. It's like the icing on the cake. A big thanks to my friend John Reeder for the excellent 2-part article he wrote in Smoke Signals on how to clone SD carbs. As well as answering questions when I got stuck (this is my first AFB rebuild-ever).

Bled the brakes on the '68 really well. They're improved, but it's still not stopping how I want I to stop. You have to really stand on the pedal hard to get them to lock up. I've struggled with getting this car to stop for years. I was looking back on some old threads the other day where I tried a bunch of master cylinders. I forgot how many I've been through trying to improve the brakes. Maybe it's as good as it's going to get.

While I was under the car doing the rear brakes, I noticed a missing nut for the rear control arm. The bolt was backed off a good 1/2". Yikes. Not sure how that happened, but I got it fixed.

Oof. Not a great way to start the weekend. Curious what could have gone wrong - maybe something in the distributor?

Waiting for a machinist to finish some parts to fix a power steering issue.

Will be interested to see what happened to Tom's bird.

You didn't by chance have a Marlboro red in one hand and AC/DC cranking at full volume through your Panasonic cassette player and sweet-ass Jensen 6x9's did you...?

The weather is nice today so Greg inspired me to get out and do a little posi and stall converter testing, too. First time I've really got on it and stayed in it for a decent amount of time.

I recently bought a Dragy and went out to the industrial area in our town trying to get a few full throttle 1/4-ish mile runs in to see what times it might put down, but I couldn't keep the car straight. Also, 1/4 mile on a public street seems a lot longer than on the track.

This is moment when I thought I should take my foot out of it before I end up in the grass.
