Why hasnt Pontiac made this kind of car yet? The car is a HUGE improvemnet over the 04' and a little improvement over the 05'. Even people who hate the new GTO likes this car... and yet Lutz the klutz dosent allow it to be made. But who knows, some day Pontiac or GM for that matter will see the light and make cars that the public wants, some day...

It's too rice....The autocross package already has the rice look as a factory option

I fail to see the rice in this car. Race yes, but rice no. It's classy yet mean-looking. It's got functional scoops and spoiler, minimal badging and no stickers.
I would have loved GM to give us this car. But I love the one I've got, and at least it was affordable as a GTO should be. Much of the Woodward GTO is custom, and building it in quantity would drive the price of a GTO into or beyond Corvette territory.

I also like how it has a 389 Ram Air 6

What did you expect it to look like? It's a modern car! It's not gonna have a vinal top and a big metal grill! Does a 2002 Camaro resemble a 69 Camaro? Hell no! Times change. Things progress! At least it's A rear wheel drive 8 cyl. For the record, I like the autocross front bumper, but not the rear, but every time one (an autocross converted car) shows up at my dealership, it attracts a crowd, And everyone in that crowd KNOWS it's not a Honda.

Something that looks like it would kick some ass...not a rental car with scoops. The back end is still too bulbous making the tires look puny.

I would hope people at a Pontiac dealership would be able to differentiate between a Honda and a Pontiac...now in a public parking lot, that's another matter. The GM Monaro gets swallowed up by the rest of the jelly beans.

Not as puny as the 15 inch stock 'pizza cutters'that the original(70's) GTO's ran!

True, but at least they looked proportionate to the rest of the car or even had enough of a wheelwell to allow some bigger meats. The rear wheel treatment on the GM Monaro looks whimpy no matter what you put back there. It didn't look that bad in some of the renderings until I actually saw one....then it looked like a Dodge Neon or some god-awful thing. Modern is fine, but give it some attitude for cryin' out loud! I'll admit though, the Woodward GTO is a vast improvement, much better than stock and certainly better than the auto-rice package.

I just saw this car about an hour ago, they had it on display at the Car Craft Nationals show in St. Paul. I liked it, I think it probably looks better when you see it in person. They were driving it around the fairgrounds, and it sounds REALLY good...I don't know what modifications they made to the engine but it's not stock by any means.

Tell me,Red, is there ANY THING good about the new GTO!? The door handles? The lug nuts perhaps? IT has BFG tires. I see those on a lot of good cars. Do they count?

As a modern day musclecar I think it all counts: 13+ second 1/4 mile, 400 hp, etc. As a GTO it fails to distinguish itself as the original icon it once was. As far as ANY THING: The front end isn't bad without the auto-rice. I'm getting used to it. It's the rest of the car that looks mundane, from the whimpy looking factory wheels to the bloated back end...looks much better without that sissy spoiler.
