1978 W 72 alternator and distrib
Calling all original 78 W72, birds. Let me know alternator #s, on your cars.. esp those, with ac.. I see diff #s in book,,1102486, 2854.

My 1978 W72 w/ AC. Alternator = 1102485-61A 7M19-12VNEG
Delco Remy Made in USA Distributor = 1103315 7K27 and on the edge of mounting pad is P7. My TA has a build date Jan. 1978. Hope this helps, Robert. |

Hi. Could it be 1102486, 61 AMP, , Thats What mine is. 2485, is a 42 amp.
My distrib is a 3315..too |

Yes, the alt. no. is 1102486 not 485.

Mine had the C60 (Air Conditioning) and C49 (Defroster, Electric Rear Window) and am pretty sure it had the '2854 alt. (63A), but I can't find if I wrote anything down. The distributor was a '3315 with a Jan. '78 code (04C build vehicle).
If it was used on a non-A/C vehicle, somewhere on the invoice it would show it (K81). |

I'd say highway star has the correct alternator for his car.
