I'm restoring a 65 automatic console and there seams to be something missing out from under the lock assembly. There's no type of catch for the push button latch to catch onto. Bought this all in pieces so I'm not sure what I'm looking for to remedy this. Also were does the door spring mount to? It was missing so I bought a new one but I don't know were it goes. Thanks for the help Scott.

It sounds like you have a broken piece missing from the front of the top plate latch area. Look at this thread and see if you have the same problem. The solution to fix the problem was also discussed.

The door spring clip goes under the screw head where the door lid hinge fastens onto the rear of the top plate.

Fill it with 2 part epoxy, let it dry good and sand it to fit. Done several that way with no problems. The piece I fixed in my 64 convertible was done this way and painted 15 years ago and even all the paint is still in place.
