Default Shock Replacements

Just wondering what guy's are using as replacements on "driver" and show cars. Is it possible to avoid Chinese grade shocks? Thanks for your ideas.

I went with Edelbrock IAS's for my driver. No complaints.

I had KYBs for years - hated the way it handled. They had no give. Switched to Bilsteins. Still stiff but I like them better.

A local highly respected front end and suspension shop recommended that I don't use a gas shock and stay with an old style oil shock because of the risk of breaking the body mounting points, as the modern gas shock places higher demands.
