Default Wife’s choice of wheels

I have to admit I was a little reluctant when she said magnesium centers and I know it takes some imagination to see the finished outcome but after mounting them I think my wife has really good taste in wheels. Car will be silvermist Gray. Whatcha think?

Always thought CRAGARS were the best looking wheel for muscle cars.

May have to re think that, those look nice.

What brand are they ?

Darn those are nice looking wheels. They really go with that body style. Good choice.

They look nice!
I favor classic wheels on classic cars, 15".
Your's still retains the classic muscle car look.
I pretty intolerant of the "big hoop" fan belt tire look....

Those will look great with Silvermist. are you putting a vinyl top on it? I think a black vinyl top would look good.

If the vinyl top moldings were not so scarce and expensive I had thought about it. My original silver GTO didn’t have a vinyl roof but my gold one did so I was on the fence. I am pretty sure I’m gonna leave it off though

I like the look. I generally don't like the look of large dia wheels with thin sidewalls. Good looking wheels with decent size tires.

Nice look.
Now your going to have to have some good looking brakes because they are so visible.
I do like the wheels!

Agree 100%.

The OP's wife, though, has done a very nice job selecting wheels for the Tempest, they look nice as do the tires.

Naaahhhh, just use a roller and some semi-gloss black latex. That'll reproduce the sheen and texture of a vinyl roof.

What size tires?
How much clearance do you have at the inner/outer wheelwell edges?
Thanks!

235/45/18 and I have plenty of clearance in the back. I dont have the front end on obviously but I turned the wheels lock to lock to see how much frame clearance I had and it looks like I will have plenty up there too. I went with TireRacks conservative estimate at first because I figure the first set wont last long anyway and I can order wider later. But they actually dont look bad and look relatively wide from the back compared to what was on it.

Not a fan of wheels larger than 15" diameter on these old goats, but have to say that the color and style of your 18's is excellent, and will really work with your car. Good choice.

Very good approach, and reasoning. I like the choice of wheels too, they look great!
