Mismatched lug nuts
My 65 GTO has 7/16 wheel studs up front and 1/2 in the back. The larger studs in the rear came with the S60 differential I used.
I have Rally 2 wheels from a later car on both axles. Right now I have the OEM style Rally 2 lug nuts up front with the black center, and parts store chrome 1/2 lug nuts in the rear. Is there a way to get 1/2 Rally 2 lug nuts for the rear with the black center? Maybe the big cars had 1/2 lugs? Any other ideas? |

No idea if they make original style in 1/2", but you could paint the tops of the larger lugs black to make them look original-ish.

The only option on the B body cars was the 8 lug set up, but it was still 7/16”.

McGard sells black plastic inserts for open ended lug nuts. But they don’t say what size they are.....

YearOne sells 1/2” RII lugs made for Year One Rally IIs. They might might work. I have a extra set if you want to give them a shot.

I pulled Half-Inch Lug nuts from a 69 Bonnevile with Rally IIs. They were decrepit though.
So they existed, but ever repopped? (Year One eh) I have the S60 with Half-Inch Studs and wagon 15x7 Rally IIs and use lug nuts from the 95 Lincoln Town Car. Stud ends sharpied black. |
