Default Th400 speedo gears

What is a good source for speedo gears? Most of my search results come up with TCI. I will need the drive gear, driven gear and the housing. Does GM still make these?

I grabbed mine off a trans parts supplier on eBay. TCI is a solid source.

https://transmissioncenter.net

The later TH400 uses a pressed on steel drive gear. It requires a special tool to remove. I made my own tool. I used a little bit of heat, not a lot as I didn't want to affect the output shaft. The tool ended up seriously deformed and the gear did not come off. I was going to pay a shop to swap gears. At the labour rates and time involved I will just put on a gear ratio adapter.

If you are talking about the driven gear housing....then no. They do make a couple different diameters of those.

I don't remember exactly when that change was made but know the older stuff tends to take the larger diameter.

I haven’t seen anything about different diameter housings for the th400, just different housings based on what speedo gear you are using. I have seen them for the th350

I have some of them here. One Mic's just under 2 inches. In the 1.90's if I remember right, and the other is just over 2 inches.

There isn't a big difference and hard to tell with the naked eye but it becomes apparent if you try to change 0-rings and have one for the other, lol.
