Anybody know of anyone restoring crimped AC fuel pumps? Originals are getting hard to find and expensive

This guys name comes up often as being the ONLY guy rebuilding Crimped Pumps.
I do not know if he is still doing this and I've read it very pricey. He doesn't have any type of site/page. Fred Ballard 28916 Flowerpark Drive Canyon Country, Ca. 91387-1801

Most recent talk on his service indicated a 1 year backlog.

Sounds like business opportunity to me. If there are a year worth of people on a list, how many more have given up and gone another direction?

Thanks all for the input. I agree we need someone to pick up the torch and run with this service. With availability of original pumps getting worse and the prices are going out of sight somebody could have a long term job

1. Professional Rebuilding Services (Highly Recommended)Because the crimped housing needs to be delicately unsealed and resealed without compromising the metal, specialists who have acquired the correct tooling are the gold standard.
Fred Ballard: Generally regarded as the only specialist in the US (and often cited globally) who successfully rebuilds and restores these crimped AC, Carter, and Mopar pumps. He completely disassembles the pump, cleans and replats it to original specifications, and replaces the internal valves and diaphragms with modern, ethanol-resistant materials. He works in batches and can be reached by phone at (559) 584-3323. >>From Corvette Forum |

A year goes by fast, get on the list.
Nobody else is doing them.
