Original driveshaft was still in good condition...

Original driveshaft was still in good condition so I had it balanced. The shop I used was great. They knew all about the Pontiac shafts and did not try to just sell a replacement shaft.

Had driveshaft balanced. It was way out of balance. Reinstalled and the vibration is gone. Easy $80 fix. Thanks everyone.

I have a '64 GP with original Slim Jim trans, driveshaft, rear end and 8 lugs.
At about 65 mph their is a pronounce shake to the driveline. The steering wheel does not shake but I can feels...

Make sure the idle is set to about 600 rpm or lower if it runs smoothly at that speed.
Slim Jim's like a low idle.

Also, try shortening the TV rod to the carb. about a half turn at a time and...

My dad has a '55 Chief and has vintage Texas plates to put on it. The car has no bracket for the front license plate. Does anyone know what was used? Is there a source now?
