Our TL has had about 4 issues with the air bag systems, Acura has services/replaced everyone of them on their dime. The last one was at about 140,000 miles. I brought it in once and asked them to look at the tranny, slight mis-shift between 2 and 3. They replaced the tranny on their dime claiming that Acura extended the warranty to 108K for the trannies, I rolled in with 107,250. They even gave me a new MDX as a loaner. Top notch in my book. I'd by another simply based on the service.

I had a 91 ranger that had the straps rot out. I noticed the plastic tank hanging down one very cold winter day, the tank was held up by two rachet straps until spring. lol.
How many of the northerners here crawl under there truck when its 5 outside and wash the fuel tank straps off??? Yeah right!! lol. |

Yep, Big Man, but you know what? I don't really care one way or the other. Hope you are well.

Coming from the land of salt and calcium cloride it rusts everything, you can paint it, plate it it does not matter, all it takes is a few rock chips and it all starts. All the car washes up here have under car wash selections which helps. It cost more so some do not use. But once it gets going there is not anything that stops it. esp the calcium cloride.
I was at a demo derby last week and there were a few cars there that looked like they had been acid dipped and left out in the weather for a while. Turns out they ran a winter derby in feb where calcium cloride had been put on the track to melt the snow and ice. Most of the paint was gone and the bodys were badly rusted in just the time from feb to now. Ford could do a little better job on paint and metal thickness on pans and udder carriage parts etc, and design, but GM is not with out thier rust issues either, I have owned both for 30 years. My 2 cents. |

now they call a recall we've been replacing them all along at njdot. the salt kills them. also where i grew up it was common for our beloved gtos fuel tanks to fall out because of rust.

In 30+ years of fixing car bodies, I've seen rust on every make. Certain cars are prone to rust in specific areas, window channels, wheel openings, etc. But I have to say I have never seen gas tank straps rust away.
One advantage of living in the southern states. |

What is "recent" to you Tom? You did say the list you posted was for "RECENT" recalls. It appears you don't care one way or the other about posting truthfully. Have a nice day... |
