firing order in a 340 mopor and was running it as a four cylinder. to save gas????

It has 1.25 front bar.
Can spring rate be determined by number of leaves(sp?) or front coil dia.??
It does not have 4 wheel disc.

It turned out that part of the converter tube that engages the front pump had cracked off.
Everything still worked, but it chewed up the front bushing...

It sounds like the fast idle cam might not be working if you can kick the gas and get the
idle to come down.

On my 78 TA the tag is fastened with screws also, but not with the phillips head ones
just plain hex head sheet metal screws.

This subject was in one of the car mags years ago, but I don't think it was a horsepower issue, I think it had to do with emmisions. Dark color, higher temp thermastat, made cleaner exaust.

Is this even from a pontiac? Its not the original motor ('74-455)
It is bolted down with 3/8" bolts and the intake has been drilled out and
re-tapped for...
