A body rear coilovers - angled or vertical

Putting coilovers in the rear of my 70 GTO. It sees the street as well as the track. Runs low 10s.
Is there an advantage to mounting the coilovers to be vertical vs angled like the stock shocks? ...

There is a cool video this guy did to add spal fans to a cold case on a GTO. I did the exact same thing on my 70 but made my own shroud and it keeps my 535 at 175 degrees all the time.

looks like a good idea to fab something to mark then lock the 2 gears to each other before taking off the old one.
