Yup, Brodix makes a big pile of different heads for BBC.

The Chevelle is 3680 lbs with driver not 3800 as I believed.
505 with 10.5 compression
UDHarold 255/263 @ .050 solid roller.
Brodix race-rite oval.
RPM intake.

The selection of heads available is what kills many, they decide to bolt a massive port on. Then they are stuck running 11s. LMAO.
I don't know how to post a link but search YouTube for DK76535TA ....he is a member here.

I there a rule against porting heads? Maybe I didn't get that memo.

Sorry for the misunderstanding, I port heads for a living. IMO all heads need to be ported! Even the Brodix.

That is true, while the KRE's had been the go to head for years the entry of the E head seemed to push everyone's game up a notch. Granted they might have anyway, but the E probably speeded things along showing the potential market was stronger than initially realized.

Blocks are another issue. The ones out there now are great race pieces and I hope to acquire one for my next build, but I still think a lighter/cheaper sportsman/replacement block is needed since all we have is 40-50 year old used Iron.
A more affordable block may also keep some of the LS swaps out of our beloved Pontiacs.

I agree, it would be nice to have a cheaper block, duplicating say a RAV/SD455 style lifter galley, "straight" 4 bolt mains and even allow larger bores like the current aftermarket blocks have. But then comes the question, what would it cost to produce said block compared to the IAII or MR1's out there now?

There has been someone that has/had that interest & ability for that kind of block for a while but too many people have given him so much trash over his current offerings that this is very unlikely now.

... or how about a better one with options, like bore-spacing, mains, oiling system, deck heights, cam & lifter location, headbolts, material, and for less money in base form ?? ...

I agree 100% about needed better options when it comes to blocks. I also would like to see more options when it comes to lesser expensive rods. I would like to see a good quality rods at a price that can compete with the rods made in China.

... well you bring up a good point, as i'm currently working on coming out with my own forged stroker kits, which include very high quality forgings, the rods and crankshafts are ready, and i'm working on finishing up the pistons for the kits currently ...

... the rods will be available in standard Pontiac or BBC specifications, the crankshafts are a high quality forging which also carry the IPN process ...

... once i have the pistons in hand i'll take more pics and release pricing info for the kits or individual components ...

So imported steel. But forged and machined in America ? Or just final machining in America ?

Well that just won't happen. And the price on blocks is kept lower by competition. If one of the suppliers stopped the price would likely go up.

I know! But I can dream. I am having sticker shock on prices of Pontiac parts.

When I had money to race , I was running a Sbc. Now that I have no money I am trying to run Pontiac. I guess I am doing this backwards.
