Did the auto shifter with the TH400 in the GTO work like the Dual Gate from 1968?

Yep, pull the lever down to L, push the lever towards the passenger side and shift forward one step at a time.

They had just a standard-looking single gate, but functioned similarly as the shift shaft pivoted to the right side of the gate. I think they were referred to as a "Rally shifter" and were on those cars thru 1972. Not sure after that. Also not sure if the F-body cars had them or not, but I "think so". |
