My '66 GP has got a set-up with solid rods that snap together & are rigid. I believe it is a factory 4 speed linkage converted to use on an Automatic. The Pics you have there look to me like that linkage would be subject to binding up. The angle of the linkage with respect to the plane of the outside of the 3 carbs is critical from my experience. The drooping on that rig is asking for trouble. I have to stomp the crap out of mine to engage it & that does not look like something I want to be stomping on.
