The early 15" Rally II wheels were made up using the same center section as a 14" Rally II. The added 1/2" of "drop center" of the 15" rims used on JWs, KNs and KRs "made up" the difference and gave those wheels their unique appearance. Early big car (Bonneville & Catalina) 15" Rally IIs were also made the same way, however they were 6" wide instead of 7", and also used the big car (5") bolt circle as opposed to the 4 3/4" bolt circle used on the A, F, G, and X-body cars. By 1973, Pontiac tooled up a larger Rally II center section to be used on 15" wheel applications.
