Gay Skating Rink Operator Gets Life in Prison for Homosexual Crimes
Former skating rink operator David Abston was sentenced Monday to life in prison, an outcome that will "take a sexual predator off the streets of Tulsa forever," District Attorney Tim Harris said. Abston pleaded no contest to two counts of sexually abusing one child, with 26 other felony counts dismissed in accordance with a plea agreement. Tulsa County prosecutors had charged Abston in May with 22 counts of sexually abusing a child, one count of forcible sodomy and five counts of possessing child pornography. In all, Abston was charged with sex offenses involving 19 boys. Abston was accused of abusing boys ages 8 to 14 over more than seven years in his Tulsa home.
