Yeah, a sheet metal intake is far easier to build then modifying a cast aluminum intake is what I understand, and it makes sense. I on the other hand am going for the vintage retro look and having a bunch of sharp angled pieces with raw welding beads at all the joints is not what I'm looking for.

So with that said, I gave the authorization today to move forward with the low rise dual quad intake. I will request pictures throughout the entire project and post them in the forum so everyone can see the progress in another thread out of respect for Don's project. ... at that price range ($6500), have you considered having one made from 6061 Billet and would it be ok if it were a 2 piece design, like down the middle, front to back ??? ...

... and for a bit more money, we could probably make one for you out of an extremely high grade plastic that i have sourced for this purpose, but this material is very exspensive, but extremely lightweight, which obviously would not look factory ...

... and if the machining marks are something that would concern you, we can needle-scale the surface, and high pressure blast it afterwards, then we can paint it any color you like, then it will look very close to a cast type surface, we could also design a tapered/flange with a counter-sunk bolt, which would help hide the flange, but not completely ...

... now, if there were enough people to generate a "Pre-Order" list, then we could work on the price, as there would be a significant amount of CAD design for a piece like this, a preorder list would be able to spread the CAD costs over a certain amount of manifolds, lowering the price, depending on how many manifolds got pre-ordered ??? ...

... i would need a set of Don's bare castings just for "Reverse-Engineering" purposes, they would be returned as soon as that was completed ...
