I've never stated the CV-1 heads are the best thing out, I hate getting lumped into the cheer leading. I actually tried to get Tigers and they were out of stock, so I bought 1- CV head and a pair of KRE HP's. I was a skeptic based on the lack of performance, but I wanted to draw my own conclusions. For the record based on FACTS. My new 68 Firebird had a 525ci Tiger Race engine in it when it was built. Best ET was around 9.26 @ 146. Weight on the car was around 3150lbs. This is not a slam on the guy who owned the car before me, Tiger heads or previous engine builder. Our 511 CV-1 went faster to the 1/8 on the SECOND PASS having fuel system issues. The weights are virtually the same, same gear, same trans, same 8 year old tires. So when someone continues to question if the heads can make as much or more as other Pontiac heads, I call BS because I have first hand experience. People want to see ET slips, I have one. Best of luck with whatever you decide. Calvin Hill Hill Performance 708-250-7420 |
