I used to run this engine combo in another 80 Trans Am starting in 2009.That car had 3.42 gears. This thread and another one 3.08 vs 3.42's documents some of the changes and track experience over a few years. The head/cam package is what is really special thanks to Dave and Marcel at the time at SD and my wife..thats another story.Much of the tuning has been by following threads and taking advice from PY members.Jim Hand's influence is seen in this car also...X pipe exhaust, cone exhaust reducers, freeflowing mufflers,Continental Convertor, mild gearing, mild street manners, idles at 850 rpm and runs on 87 octane. The current shortblock has also been in service since 2009 and is just a basic rebuild with heavy TRW's,prepped cast rods and a factory crank.I've always enjoyed and learned from others relating their tuning changes and procedures and hopefully I can help others too.
