Ok, poly, than is didn't hang up if you tightened them in the air, unless you over-tightened and didn't lube the face of bushing that is on the frame side.
Nope, on a linear spring, the rate shouldn't change as it compresses. Shouldn't. If it's not properly made, it 'could', but still not likely. Only 'progressive' springs increase rate as they compress. .
